ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has thanked the nation for coming out of their homes to express solidarity with the brothers and sisters reeling under coercive Indian measures in Occupied Kashmir.
In a tweet, the prime minister said that he is proud of Pakistani people in the way they came out in solidarity with the Kashmiris – letting them know our nation stands resolutely with them as they confront the brutal, fascist Modi government’s annexation and ethnic cleansing agenda in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
I am so proud of our people in the way they came out today in solidarity with the Kashmiris – letting them know our nation stands resolutely with them as they confront the brutal, fascist Modi govt's annexation & ethnic cleansing agenda in IOJK. #KashmirHour

Actor and politician, Urmila Matondkar has been actively calling out Modi government’s move to scuttle Article 370 and the security crackdown in occupied Kashmir on Twitter.
Govt.’s desperate attempts to show “rosy picture of normalcy”in JnK is beyond pathetic. With #370Scrapped and talks of bright future, till when is this torture of local people and leaders going to end? How is “sabka vishwas” ever possible like this??#KashmirStillUnderCurfew https://t.co/69AA8oJTst

Speaking to the press recently, Urmila lashed out at the Government of India for their actions. The Congress politician revealed that her husband has been unable to get in touch with his Kashmiri parents.
“The question is not only about abrogating Article 370. It was done in an inhumane manner. My father-in-law and mother-in-law stay there. Both are diabetic, have high blood pressure. Today is the 22nd day, neither me nor my husband have been able to speak to them. We have no clue if they have medicines available at home,” she said.
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party decided to revoke Article 370 of the Constitution.
The article allowed the state a certain amount of autonomy – its own constitution, a separate flag and freedom to make laws. Foreign affairs, defence and communications remained the preserve of the central government.
