Accountability Court extends Khawaja Brother’s judicial remand by 16 days

LAHORE: An accountability court on Saturday extended judicial remand of Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique by 16 days in the Paragon Housing case.

Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brothers were presented before the court as their judicial remand ended today (Saturday).

The court granted a 16-day extension in their judicial remand.

Saad Rafique attends first NA session after NAB custody

During the hearing, the investigation officer informed the court that “Paragon Housing reference will be presented before 90 days are complete, ” after accountability court judge Syed Najmul Hasan inquired about progress in the reference against the Khawaja brothers.

On February 2, the accountability court had sent the Khawaja brothers to jail on 14-day judicial remand after rejecting the NAB’s request for an extension in their physical remand.

On December 11, 2018, the NAB arrested Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique after their bail pleas were rejected by the Lahore High Court (LHC).

Both of them were facing NAB inquiry in Paragon Housing Society scam.
