LAHORE –Member of the National Assembly (MNA) and president of the PML-N’s Punjab wing Rana Sanaullah will be presented before a narcotics court in Lahore today (Tuesday) after he was arrested over his alleged links with drug-peddlers and banned outfits.
The ANF will request for a remand for the PML-N leader.
For Sanaullah’s court appearance before the court, a security plan has been devised as more than 400 anti-riot force personnel have been deployed around the city.
On Monday, the Anti-Narcotics Force was picked up by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) from Motorway near Sukheki while he was on his way to Lahore from Faisalabad and discovered of a large stash of contraband from his vehicle.
An ANF (Lahore) spokesperson had confirmed that the PML-N’s senior leader was arrested and a case was being filed in accordance with the Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997, after a large stash of contraband was recovered from his vehicle.
Riaz Soomro, the spokesperson said Sanaullah was arrested in light of numerous proofs, adding that investigation in this regard has been launched and further details would be revealed soon.
