LAHORE – British Council (pkBritish) put up a status on Twitter asking people which relationships were absolute failures (Fictional).
Which Bae was totally Bae-kaar?
Who are the fictional baes who did not deserve to be? Tell us their names, which book/film/TV show they feature in and your reason why by midnight today! #pklibraries #stillabetterlovestorythantwilight #ValentinesDay pic.twitter.com/LthBJYszl5

People have a whole lot of popular characters in the list of names!
Clearly Daisy is not anyone’s favourite..
Nick and Amy Dunne from Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl. Shove this book into the hands of any couple and I swear they'll think twice before getting hitched!

Mr Darcy, elitist edgelord who judges women for not being attractive to him, smiling too much and being goldiggers (all three of these judgements are deeply rooted in misogyny) and has a toxic controlling relationship with his only friend. https://t.co/5UasUTuSR2

Hamlet, the boy slutshames his mom and ex on the same day like what even my guy get it together. Get thee to a therapist https://t.co/5UasUTuSR2

Daisy and Jay, The Great Gatsby. She was self centred and didn’t deserve Jay. And poor Jay loved her till his last breath. Distressing.

Ella and David, from the novel The Forty Rules of love. David was a shallow person who took advantage of Ella’s vulnerabilities as a mother and wife, and treated her like a trophy. Until Ella turns the tables.

Dan and Serena (Derena) from Gossip Girl. Mopey boy whose (marginal) class anxieties backstory never compensated for the fact that he didn't ever appear to have an ounce of writing talent. (Serena was just boringly entitled) https://t.co/4wzWtFlq4t

Daisy. The Great Gatsby!! Selfish shallow and hurtful. How could she?!!

I'll stick to TV: 1) Don Draper — non-functional alcoholic, treats women like shit, sinks his company THREE times. Nope. 2) Walter White — ooh he shaved his head and is such a badass. Nope. Sociopath. #JusticeforSkyler 3) The dude from "You" — literally a murderer. https://t.co/GTqwAtRvnJ

Books take you into a new world which is why you often fail to realize how toxic a particular relationship is in the story. But yes some fav characters can let us down.
Spiteful marriages to other people, emotional torture, and even some creepy haunting from beyond the grave, is all a part of such stories.
